Yazz Ahmed, “The Priestess of Psychedelic Arabian Jazz”, will perform in Spain as a duo with vibraphonist Ralph Wyld. Through her music, British-Bahraini trumpeter Yazz Ahmed seeks to blur the boundaries between jazz and electronic sound design, fusing the sounds of her mixed heritage, described as “intoxicating and captivating”.
Over the last decade, Yazz has led his ensembles in performances throughout the UK and Europe, and elsewhere including Algeria, Bahrain, Beirut, Kuwait, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and Canada. He has also delighted audiences at major festivals such as WOMAD, Love Supreme, NYC Winter Jazz Fest and Pori Jazz.
His career is replete with high-profile collaborations with the likes of Radiohead, Lee Scratch Perry, Transglobal Underground, Arturo O’Farrill, Natacha Atlas, These New Puritans and Obongjayar.
Following the international success of La Saboteuse and Polyhymnia, Yazz Ahmed’s latest album, “A Paradise in the Hold”, was released last February 2025 on a pioneering label. Night Time Stories.
